Three year-old among those found in prostitution bust

A three-year-old boy is known to be among the children found by police when they swooped on a country-wide child-prostitution and trafficking syndicate last night.

At least 13 girls, some as young as 10 years, were also rescued.

Police arrested 59 men, all of them Nigerians, in Johannesburg and Durban. One alleged client was also arrested. The Joint Committee on the Improvement of the Quality of Life and Status of Women has called for tighter legislation around child trafficking and prostitution.
