The question: Does aggressive pornography produce the same effects as slasher films?

Experiment:

Male subjects were first angered or treated neutrally by a female accomplice, and then divided into three groups.

• Group One: saw aggressive pornography (woman is raped)

• Group Two: saw misogynist slasher movie (woman is tied up or hurt but no sex involved)

• Group Three: saw a film showing consensual sex

Results:

• The combination of angered subject and aggressive pornography (#1) produced the highest aggression levels.

• Aggressive non-pornographic film (#2) also produced higher levels of aggression than the consensual sexual film (#3).

Conclusion:

Violent porn is related to aggression against women, but this may be due to the violence in the film, not the sex.
