Six northeast Atlanta area men are in custody, charged with (raping) a 12-year-old girl.

The Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office made the arrests, but it was only after the FBI uncovered the crimes from another investigation.

The FBI's Safe Child Task Force began an investigation last November into a Duluth man who was accused of manufacturing child pornography on his computer.

When they dug deeper into the case, after going through his computer, they found evidence they thought Gwinnett law enforcement officials would want to pursue.

Last November, the FBI executed a search warrant at the Duluth home of 49-year-old Wilbur Caldwell. Inside the home, and inside Caldwell's computer, they found enough evidence to charge him with manufacturing and distributing child pornography.

But there was more.

"Well, it became apparent to our investigators that additional individuals were invited over to his residence for the purpose of (raping) a minor child," said FBI Special Agent Stephen Emmett.

Gwinnett County Sheriff investigators say Caldwell ran an advertisement on a website. They say he advertised an 18-year-old girl for sex. They say the girl was an acquaintance of Caldwell's, and she was really 12 years old. According to investigators, six men took advantage of the ad and went to Caldwell's home.

"He would invite them via the internet to come over to his home and (rape) her," said Stacey Kelley of the Gwinnett County Sheriff¹s Office.

"And did they, in fact, (rape)?" Kelley was asked by 11Alive News.

"They did come to the house and they did (rape) her," Kelley confirmed.

Despite what Caldwell advertised investigators say there is no way the girl could have been confused for an 18-year-old.

"He would have her at his house, and he would provide her with alcohol," Kelley said.

The six men arrested are:

52-year-old George Disabato, a real estate appraiser from Grayson

24-year-old Peter Janoe, a student from Dunwoody

34-year-old Timothy Whitney from Stockbridge

22-year-old Brenton Smith, a student from Atlanta

36-year-old Ronald Bigg, a computer programmer from Lawrenceville

47-year-old Charles Jundt, Jr., a furniture salesman from Norcross.

They are each charged with statutory rape, aggravated child molestation and aggravated sexual battery.

There was no money exchanged for (rape). Investigators say it took place in Caldwell's basement, where he had hidden cameras he could monitor from an upstairs room.

In June, Caldwell pleaded guilty in federal court to manufacturing and distributing child pornography.
