| Rapist jailed after
DNA advance Wednesday, 28 September 2005 BBC News Bryan Keen was caught using advanced forensic techniques which matched his DNA to that found at the scene of the rape in Greater Manchester. The 50-year-old from Wilmslow, Cheshire, was convicted of rape, false imprisonment, kidnap, two counts of indecent assault and a sexual offence. The attack took place at the Pelican hotel in Altrincham in September 1994. Keen, who runs a hardcore pornography business, was arrested in March after the case was examined by Greater Manchester Police's Cold Case Review Unit. Greater Manchester Police said Keen attacked the woman over several hours in the hotel room and told her he was videoing her ordeal. Following the sentencing on Wednesday, Det Sgt Andrew Meeks said: "Bryan Keen displayed complete disregard for the victim as a human being, subjecting her to a degrading experience. "We have never recovered the video he told the woman he was
making, but it is the view of the prosecution that, given the industry
he worked in, there is a likelihood he has distributed it and made
money from the humiliation he subjected her to.” |
